One billion forints to support the promotion of domestic research results under the new Science Patronage call

HUF 79 billion available this year for innovation projects under the John von Neumann Programme
This week Parliament adopted Hungary’s new innovation strategy, the John von Neumann Programme, which focuses on linking universities, research institutions and the economy. Frontline programme is back: this year the best researchers can apply for HUF 3 billion
The “Frontline” – Excellence Programme will be open again this year, and researchers at the forefront of the scientific world can apply for the HUF 3 billion budget provided from the National Research, Development and Innovation Fund until 28 April 2022 – Tamás Schanda announced. The Deputy Minister of the Ministry for Innovation and Technology (ITM) added that the winning applicants will be able to pursue competitive discovery research in Hungary with a total of up to HUF 350 million in state funding over five years.

The HCEMM research community has grown to nearly 100 members
Budapest, 6 August 2021 -Two more research groups have started their work in the Hungarian Centre of Excellence for Molecular Medicine (HCEMM), a translational medicine-focused research centre initiated by the Ministry for Innovation and Technology and established by a number of professional partners, which now has nearly 100 scientists working in 16 different fields of life sciences. Csaba Bödör, a molecular biologist who has just joined the HCEMM, specialises in genetic research on haematopoietic tumours, while Nikolett Wohner, senior research fellow focuses on the background of blood clot formation and haemophilia-related diseases.

Hungarian-Chinese call for proposals with a budget of HUF 200 million is open to promote joint research and development projects
The joint call for proposals of the National Research, Development and Innovation Office (NRDI Office) and its Chinese partner, the Ministry for Science and Technology (MOST) announced with the policy support of the Ministry for Innovation and Technology is designed to promote research and development cooperation under a bilateral science and technology (S&T) agreement of a total budget of HUF 200 million. The call is open to project proposals until 12 February 2021. The focus areas are public health, physics and artificial intelligence.
